Faith and Sacrifice

*Faith and Sacrifice*

Dan 11:31 And arms shall stand on his part, and they shall pollute the sanctuary of strength, and *shall take away the daily [sacrifice],* and they shall place the abomination that maketh desolate.

Deliberately, I want to take this verse out of context to advance a thought.

Firstly, just because part b of the next verse is popular.

Dan 11:32 And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: *but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do [exploits].*

Secondly, Abraham, the father of faith was asked to sacrifice His only begotten Isaac's. Through his belief and readiness to offer the latter unto God, he was justified to be a righteous man.

Under the old covenant, the law of God required the priest to offer daily sacrifices. It must be a very hard ritual to conduct. However, premature cessation, was outright disobedience to God and neglect of the Santuary. You would expect such behavior, from people who did not know their God, neither desired to wax strong and glorify God with their exploits.

While some may argue that the offertory of daily sacrifice is obsolete under the new covenant, it would be necessary to reassess the impact of such thinking on human attitude and behavior towards God.

Let's consider prayer to be a Christian discipline that we ought to practice continually. We know it lights up the fire of God in the Santuary. Then, Is perpetual prayerlessness a sin and abomination before God?
Is it not equal robbery to withhold such a daily sacrifice from the body of Christ.

Are we not approved before God, to rightly devide his word when when we offer holy sacrifices and reason sacrifice unto Him.

Just to throw the icing on this cake :

_Jam 2:24 Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only._

In conclusion, faith is necessary in making sense of our sacrifices. Given that we live by Faith, DAILY is not an unreasonable standard.

Deepest Regards,
🫡
