ONE UNNECESSARY HABIT

WHY YOU MUST STOP TRYING
You might have heard it being said, “life is no rehearsal.”
I am fond of using this phrase and somewhat consider it my sacred mantra. Life is lived a step at a time, which means you are either living it fully or dying slowly. If I can employ business jargon, I would put it this way, life is a matter of closing the sale/ deal and not a marketing side show. Life is about making it happen!
Psychologists love to use this analogy in therapy to let their clients grasp the idea of taking responsibility. So a client will be given a chair and asked to have a seat. Then he would be asked to stand up from the seat. Most, if not all, do it without any effort or struggle. It is an easy exercise! The client is then requested to sit again and asked to TRY STANDING up. You can feel the struggle, right?
Closely knitted in life is your dream. The only way to realise your dream is to live it. The challenge of realising the dream has one of indiscipline. The indiscipline of RATIONALISED PROCRASTINATION. This dis-ease is communicable and is spread about by cantankerous personalities who value reputation more than character. They spread it using their words of mouth.
They will talk of PURSUING YOUR DREAM.
They will talk of CHASING AFTER YOUR DREAM.
They will talk of NEVER GIVE UP, KEEP TRYING.
They will talk of ASPIRING FOR LEADERSHIP.
The trick in such statement is also one of failing to see the reality in the now. The reason is that of not seeing who one is looking for
The reality of the matter is, when it comes to your dream, you must have it in the now. You ought to know it’s spirit and letter and live it out loud. Just like the constitution, which sets our ideal as a nation cannot be left for the next generation to execute, we must realise the need of confronting ourselves with the reality of our gifts, talents, and resources. For all we can expect of tomorrow is things will go wrong and worse if we don’t act today.
No longer can time heal the dis-ease of procrastination.
It is time to go out and SELL YOUR DREAM.
