It is said that, when you go to Rome do as the Romans do. You will meet Culture there. Some good practices, others bad customs. However, the bottom line is, home is the best.
So, what makes Rome so different from home ?
I call the difference, the tribal instinct. It is the village that you can't get out of the boy. Forget the uncultured who don't know their mother tongue. The liberal can just say anything.
Travel, education, technology and other agents civilization have tried to extinguish the tribal fire but with little success. Our own language is the sweetest to our ears. If one prostitutes with a different tribal instinct he is deemed to be a doomed slave. He can only be cleansed by reigniting his tribal sense.
Some ashamed of their background will start hating on other's. They neither acknowledge theirs nor do they want to appreciate other's . Moreover, they do not want others to enjoy their own tribal endowment.
Despising your own tribe is the beginning of tribalism. In my estimation, there is a thin difference between tribalism and covetousness. Which by all means are not virtuous for any people.
Next time you see charity starting from home, don't be envious, pray that generosity may abound and spill over to your quarters too.
When tempted to profile others along tribal lines, ask yourself, what do my kinsmen say concerning ABC? I believe your culture is rich and kind enough to the stranger. Trace your roots and embrace diversity.
