THE BLESSING OF BEING AROUND IN 2018.

That you are alive in a new year ain't a trivial thing. It's not a coincidence nor an accident. You have been watched over and been given a divine gifting called life. Life is your reason to exude gratitude.

One of the rarest manifestation of the blessedness of life, is the beauty of being. Let me reiterate, BEING not DOING. That in just being yourself your dignity is an immeasurably precious quality. This awesome has been ripped off its lustre by empty philosophy that incessantly overrates performance. Performance kills human beings by transforming them into human doings. When Skills and expertise are more important than people, then food and clothing become more valuable than the body. We must refocus our priorities in this new year.

To get started, let's flip the holy book for a few insights.
In Matthew 26:11, Jesus made one of his most enduring statement that may offend folks this day just as it did during his era.

"The poor will always be with you. "  I wonder if this reality is awake in your dawn. Perhaps you did a one off charitable thing to close your last year and thought, aw there are people suffering out there! But with new year, it's time for the unholy trinity resolutions. It's time for me, myself and I. Think again.

In the scriptures am drawn to two characters in need. Fortunately, the have the same name, whose Greek meaning is as "God is my help.". I am taking about Lazarus.

My first Lazarus was a poor man who lived next to a rich man. He desired to be fed. But the rich man was UNAVAILABLE for the service. The only friend to this pauper was the faithful dogs that licked his honest wounds. The story continues after the two men die.

The other one Lazarus, was a man who was loved. He had two godly ladies for sisters and was a personal friend to the messiah . At a point in life he became sick, his cure was to be in the presence of his beloved friend. However his friend was UNAVAILABLE.
His story continues after he dies.

How the narrative continues is extremely illuminating. The unavailable rich man wishes that Lazarus would rise from the dead to warn his kinsmen on how to live. On the flip side our second Lazarus rises from the dead and to those his resurrection was to effect meaning, they conspire to kill him. His presence is disgusting to them.

My conclusion is this.: God will always help his people. There are many Lazarus out here, but being there for them is a blessing. May you never regret being around those you dearly love.

This is the blessing of being around in 2018.
