RE-SPECT

RE-SPECT

We tend to appreciate what we will receive and depreciate what we have.

Read that again.

Well that is the practice when handling material wealth, especially capital assets. We dream and plan for that machine or property and sometimes we overate them. Once we have them in our possession we start accounting for their depreciation. That is NORMAL.

But let's consider the soft skills of human capital? Most specifically RE-SPECT. Should they too follow similar  fate?

If the lady takes her time to dress up well for let's say for a date, should she expect the gentleman to do the same?

If your preacher man is decked in a jacket and tie, why shouldn't you appreciate by making use of yours? Is that not how it works in the corporate scene?  I mean, you don't show up in torn jeans before an employer in a Suit.

If you are in the habit of making up time for important things, you are most likely feel mistreated by the African timers. It's not only unfair, but also a disregard of your TIME, if not utter DISRESPECT.

We all somehow respect those who reflect what we respect and not necessarily to those who are are higher than we. It mostly happens those who get ahead of us embody what we VALUE,therefore they earn our respect.

The bottom line is, the foundation of respect lies in equity and not merely in equality. Be fair and be respected.
