EXPANDING BOUNDARIES
Life is always either a tightrope or a feather bed. Give me the tightrope. - Edith Wharton.
We are all pushed to the limit some times in life. Every time and again, someone seems to want to have the a piece of us. No matter who you are, you have your own moments of testing and seasoning. Indeed you experience your own type of nervous tension in your growth in life.
Growth is a painful process.
Rarely does it happen in an healthy fashion in the comfort zone. In the process of my growth, there has been the temptation to COMPLAIN. It the easiest and most natural thing to do when being pushed out of the comfort zone.
Today I noticed myself doing it again. "I THINK MY GENEROSITY IS BEING ABUSED." I felt I should be able to restrict my service. I should not be extravagant with grace, should I? But how do I know I have been gracious enough without being conceited? That has been my dilemma.
A few minutes of meditation bore a few fruit.
To those who have their boundaries enlarged, complaining becomes their downside fall. We should all beware.
Serving humanity is not a bed of roses, but it is a sure privilege. To the Healthcare professional who treats the sick to the bartender who intoxicates the willing buyers. We all want to have our coast enlarged in the midst of an UNAPPRECIATED waters. The limits that will accommodate us will be stretched in us. We are to be the change.
We have to be:
more kind,
More gentle
More long-suffering
More faithful
More self controlled
More generous.
To this end, no man Can pay us.
But sure is our REWARD.
Then we shall appreciate our enlarged boundaries...
