Marry in haste, repent at leisure - Samuel Johnson
Few mistakes in life have far fetching consequences as transgressions in speed. We are all time and again cautioned of the risk of misusing time and the consequential curse of doing things in haste. However, in being keen to analyze pros and cons of matters arising we also prone to sins of indecision and complacency. Andrew Jackson simplifies it for us "Take time to deliberate; but when the time for action arrives, stop thinking and go in." but we all know it is never all that black and white.
Rather, it's more like what mother Theresa alluded to,"Love begins at home, and it is not how much we do... but how much love we put in that action."
Many are the times we are not at home with the decisions of "love" that we make. Sometimes we overdo things only to regret later. Reason, we wished to be repaid back with "love". I hope you are not f** up with your career of love yet?
For some, we play the Shakespeare's script of the character who wooed in haste, but now wishes to marry at leisure.
The core of the problem is the confusion of Love. Is love what you give or what you get? It is in the delight that you can muster to squeeze into an action that counts.
Much of the things we breed positivity over are 'hard-works' that are worked out with fear and trembling. Albeit, our delight in the fruit of Labour makes light of the work. In return in our enjoyment of fruit, we call the roots of our delight, "LOVE."
Take time to delight, and you will love the ends of your actions.
